If you follow me on Instagram then you've seen this work in progress. A few days home due to the ice storm = extra time to paint. This client asked for a cream painting which was perfect because as I mentioned in an earlier post, I've wanted to work with a cream color pallet. It's very peaceful. And because of the green wall color and placement in the room this 50 x 50 beauty is REALLY going to stand out. I cannot wait to see it in the space. Hopefully, photos to come.
Until then we will wait, and wait, and wait some more for the paint to dry.

For those of you in Dallas, I thought this was appropriate for today. Not as glamorous as the windows at Bergdorf's, but certainly a winter wonderland here in big D today.
Back in the studio, I’m working on a couple of commissions - one for a client in Fort Worth and another for someone in Austin (Did I say I can ship my work?). It’s exciting when my work goes to other cities. I’ll snap a few pics once they're finished. Last, but certainly not least, I’m gearing up to ship 3 paintings for Spotlight On Art in Atlanta, GA which benefits The Trinity School. Artist participation is by invitation only and features work by established and emerging artists. I'm honored to be included and among such talented artists.

As I return from an amazing NYC girl’s trip with my daughter and mother, I’m thankful for family and the special time we shared. My daughter was old enough to be appreciative, yet young enough to scavenge yummy sweets from the candy bins at FAO Schwartz and ice skate in the park with her Mom.
Here's a shot from inside the MOMA. Love this view.
We spent a day ohhing and ahhing over art at the MOMA and the Frick. My top three paintings, although there were so, so many were... Monet’s Agapanthus, Pollock's Shimmering Substance 1946 and Vermer's Girls With the Pearl Earring (in no particular order).
Vermer's The Girl With the Pearl Earring
Her expression in person compared to what you see here or in a book does not even do the painting justice. The detail is stunning!
The marks and movement in this piece are beautiful. I could have stared at it all day.
We ended the trip with a heartwarming Christmas sending off thanks to the Rockets. Twinkle lights, 3-D effects, Santa, high kicks and snow drifting upon the audience… Oh my!
